This new, low budget, residence in an existing low density neighborhood reflects the unique characteristics of Topanga Canyon. The placement of the home allows an existing drainage swale to continue to flow through the site providing a source of water for natural planting and vegetation. The open floor plan encourages family interaction and outdoor living. The residence takes cues from the natural surroundings and incorporates materials from a greater regional context such as the corrugated metal which defends against fire danger prevalent in the area.
